I can't wait for the debate
I am looking forward to Thursday's comedy fest known as the Vice Presidential debate. I have to laugh in order not to cry at some of the outrageous things coming out of her mouth. It is scary, and the swell of the religious right in this country makes it feel like the 80's all over again. I don't ever want religion and government intertwined, and clearly, the two cannot be seperated in regards to Palin. This is a quote from her addressing the congregation at her church:
"Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending soldiers out on a task that is from God. That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan." -Sarah Pailn, on the Iraq war, speaking to students at the Wasilla Assembly of God, June 2008.
No wonder people from other countries hate the U.S. I love this country, and I am not unpatriotic, but where do we get off thinking that "God" loves us best because we are Americans?
