They wanted me to teach math to students who failed the UBSC (an absurdly easy standardized test that one must pass to graduate). They said that I came highly recommended, which rather validated my entire career as a substitute. Then they told me I'd have to start Monday, when I'll be in St. George. (Apparently a teacher fell through at the last minute.)
Oh faithful readers, I was this __ close to being a real (uncertified) teacher with a real class.
Money would have been nice too. Most of my dollars are in CDs, so I'm on track to run out of liquid cash and carry a credit card balance for the first time in my life. Staying with Amy longer missed me four days I could have subbed. As one might imagine, I retroactively wish I came back sooner-if it would have made the gap bigger, anyway.
