So I've spent my winter break so far feeling like a caged animal or like some creepy old man who stays in his house all day while the neighborhood kids come up with stories as they walk by:
"I heard that old man Tomasetti was born with a skin deficiency so that if he comes out in the sun his skin will blister and melt away."
"No, I heard old man Tomasetti used to breed rare monkeys until one day the monkeys revolted and are holding him hostage in his own home!"
"I heard old man Tomasetti has been dead for five years but his Mom refuses to believe it so she carries around his decaying corpse."
In reality I've just been louging around, TiVoing History channel specials and the Nip/Tuck season finale, drawing, reading, and teaching myself French by CDs that boast "Learn French the Easy Way!" "Speak French like a Native with just 5 Minutes a day!" I couldn't help but think of David Sedaris when I popped in a few... So far I know:
Je suis un homme - I am a man.
J'adore la musique - I like music.
Le president des Etats-Unis est une merde! - French propaganda?!
I know, it's a French joke but I'm having fun with my new language. Well I'm looking forward to tomorrow because it officially starts the Christmas holiday. Tomorrow night I have the traditional fettuccine and shrimp at my Aunts, then Christmas Eve, then Christmas with the family. While I haven't been stressed out by the holidays I'm just very underwhelmed by the whole thing. Maybe tomorrow when I don my Christmas sweater and have a few sips of egg nog I'll be more in the Christmas spirit. Until then...
Happy Holidays!
