Just be grateful you aren't Slackitivist. His project is "Left Behind."
I have to agree with a lot of what you say here. The book really suffers from problems with pacing, filler and lack of likable characters. (Onscreen, at least.)
As for predictions, 1. No. Snape may secretly have had a thing for Lily (that being the most cliched reason for his apparent change of heart after her death), but if so he kept it secret even from Lily herself.
2. Yes. Either Snape or Draco will turn out to be helpful to Harry, if only by betraying Voldemort at a critical moment for their own selfish motives.
3. Maybe. We were told Regulus is dead, but it wasn't on screen, so there's a small possibility that he or his ghost or his notebook will show up and give Harry some help.
4. Not unlikely at all, given how much this confrontation has been built up.
5. At least one, though hopefully not before Petunia spills some info on Harry's mother.
6. Very possible, especially if you subscribe to the Philosopher's Stone notion of plot construction.
7. Dead certain. There's no way he can live in normal society after this, so Snape will either die or fake his death.
8. Nah. Possibly a covert Death Eater, though.
I was just waiting for Harry to give Ginny an upside-down kiss in the rain....
