Once more into the breach

It's been a while, but I have taken up another freelance RPG writing gig. Maybe I'm kinda like that director Terrence Malik who only comes out every few years to do a movie. Err.. no. But I do enjoy the luxury of doing stuff like this when the spirit moves me, because then I know I'm motivated to do it and can really give it 100%.

Anyway, it's a campaign book for Godlike and I figure I can talk about it since Shane at Arc Dream has already announced it on Facebook, Twitter, etc. People have been telling me I should write up the D-Day campaign I ran from '08 - '09 as an actual published adventure. So I pitched it to Arc Dream and they (I should say he, Shane Ivey) went for it. Yay!

Shane and I talked for about 2 hours last Saturday, and hashed out a lot of the whys and wherefores. I was happy that we were both on the same wavelength with regard to the tone and grittiness of the campaign. This thing is going to chew up characters and spit them out in little pieces.

I have a pretty tight (for me at least) deadline - the first draft is due November 1st! I've been trying to get at least a thousand words a day in after I get home from work - which is hard because my brain is usually fried and I know I'm not at my best. This weekend will be the first since I started in on this, and I mean to bust a large chunk of it then, probably on Sunday when I can work all day on it.

I started with the actual scenario itself, the in-play parts. I'll go back and do all the background and play tips stuff after. I think this was a wise move since I'm doing pretty good and getting the meat of it all down now.

Back to work!
