I thought I had finished the Missionary Church credential application. I was pleased. It took me two? three weeks? In reviewing it, I realized that I did not give scriptural references for everything, like they had asked. *sigh* I'm used to stating my beliefs, generally refering to scripture (though not quoting any since most people I talk to hate that), and if they want to know more, I study it out with them. I'm not used to having to be a Jack VanImpe. So, the next couple of days will consist of studying, and lots of it. Not that I'm not sure of what I believe, but that it tends to be different than mainstream Christianity in quite a few ways, so I can't just look it up in a typical commentary. Especially my Orthodox Preterist leanings, which I will have to give a huge list of scriptures for. Most who explain such a thing have had to write books to do so, not a simple scriptural reference. It requires comparing historical accounts with scripture. Though disproving much of dispensationalism is merely scriptural exegesis. In fact, Dispensationalism is rather newm and Orthodox Preterism can be traced all the way back to Clement, aside from scripture making more sense in that light. Anyhow... I just had to write out my frustration a bit. My Jewish studies don't seem to collide too very much with what I'm having to answer, so I have some relief and hope.
Dead Somber is next on the list to record. Marshall will be going with me to be a second. It's only a demo project, so it's small, but it is a recording project none-the-less. Plus, their music is pretty cool. Hopefully this will give them a boost to be able to record a full-length in the future. Also, speaking of, None-The-Less should be booking studio time in the next month or so as well. I think they're going for a full-length. Or at least it's remnants from None-The-Less. Nadine and I are slowly getting a system down. After we complete all the things for the Missionary Church (hopefully this week), we should be able to focus more clearly on our businesses.
Apart from that, we're starting a new study this Thursday; Replacement Theology. Essentially, we will be listening to and discussing lectures on the first two centuries of Church history. It will change your perception of the faith completely. We hope for it to cause those who come to more genuinely seek out a faith rooted in truth. It should be an Earth-shattering experience, but one that will hopefully result in our deepening our faith in something much more real than before. We will still be having Lectio Divina and Worship Experiences... the bibilical study will be alternating with them.
