To be honest, I began to lose interest in the coming Iron Man sequel ever since I heard that Terrence Howard was being replaced by Don Cheadle as War Machine. As much as I enjoy Don Cheadle as an actor, he just doesn't give that War Machine vibe. A Robbie Robertson vibe, maybe. But dear old Rhoddy?? HELL NO. Must be the 'stache. But either way, i saw it as a step down from the first film.
Later, news started developing about how Emily Blunt would play the Black Widow. Emily who? THE OTHER SECRETARY IN THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA. Long slender body. Stylish. Sophisticated. Cold. PERFECT. And all the excitement came rushing back.
Then, a few days later I get caught by the contagious disappointment of Ms. Blunt as it is announced that she lost the role.
Fast-forward to the present. FINAL ANNOUNCMENT: SCARJO AS WIDOW. OMFG. Does she look like a former ballerina? Or a Soviet Spy? Or a cold-blooded killer? No, no and no.
But. SCARJO + SKIN-TIGHT LEATHER + FRONT ZIPPER > 300, The Dark Knight and Watchmen combined. RDJ you bastard!
