THREE'S COMPANY!

May 05, 2008 22:49

It seems I missed my 3rd LJ-versary. HOWEVER, I did post a picture of koalas on that day. So perhaps, unconsciously, I remembered all along. What says playing-fandoms better than two koalas spaced out on eucalyptus? I don’t know. Anyway, in a lazy tribute to the three years I’ve spent here - and because the main reason I signed up was to write and share fiction - here’s some ‘key’ mijmeraar fic. For different reasons.

The First Fic I Posted to LJ - MASH - April Fool’s.

Oh, the good old days. It was a very mediocre little drabble. But you were all so sweet to me and I felt so confident in my abilities, even though I knew I had[ve] a long way to go. MEGSY! You left me a comment! If only we’d known we were ~eeriebonds~ way back then. Also note that I replied to the last commenter, with a mass comment for everyone. Can you say n00b? Anyway, yes. For three whole years I’ve been a MASH girl, and it’s the only fandom that has really remained static the entire time. MASH 4EVA.

The Most Popular Fic I’ve Posted to LJ - WBRPS - Drawing Constellations.

I base the ‘popular’ on the amount of comments. Oh, bless you RPS fandom for having so many fangirls. I’m constantly in awe of you RPS girls, because despite the size of the fandom you make an effort to read fic, and give feedback, and support up-coming [fanfic] writers. I know this is just fandom, and we’re not getting rich doing this shit, but LJ can be a great place for growth, in many ways. It has for me, especially thanks to this fandom. ILU guise.

The Most Unpopular Fic I’ve Posted to LJ - Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid - Carry On.

Okay, there’s a fair few drabbles, and obscure fics that I’ve written and either haven’t gotten any comments or have gotten one or two here and there. Which, you know, fair enough. It’s also fair enough that my bloody BUTCH CASSIDY fic didn’t garner a lot of attention, but I chose to single this one out because I’m kind of really proud of it. It’s simple, but it says a lot about how these two men touched me. It’s not making something of nothing. It’s how I see them.

The Best Fic [I Think] I’ve Posted to LJ - Brokeback Mountain - Just This.

This will all sound so conceited, but there’s a few fics that I look back on and think, Wow. Did I seriously write that? This is one of them. I can read this fic and not cringe, and not want to change much at all, and feel comfort in my portrayal of these boys. Which isn’t said lightly, because even though I don’t go on about them anymore, these boys will always be very important to me. When I read that short story,I was so blown away. SO it makes me smile I can give a little back. No matter how little.

The Worst Fic [I Think] I’ve Posted to LJ - HP and SW RPS - It’s a toss up!

Both Echo for it’s terribly characterised broken!Ron, which went nowhere at all and guh. I just don’t like it. As well as Now You’re in the World which was my first multi-chaptered fic, Ewan/Hayden, that I posted as I went so it just withered and died in the end, haha. Seriously.

The Last Fic I’ve Posted to LJ - WBRPS - Marital Bliss.

My boys! My poor, poor angsty boys. I think Jared and Sandy are so fucking adorable, and I wish them every happiness, but they’ll never be J2 now, will they? I could give you quotes and anecdotes and reasons up the wazoo why Jared and Jensen are MFEO but you’ve seen them all before. These boys are special, and if you don’t have htem in your life perhaps you should consider it.

So, yes. I’m an A-Grade fangirl. I get the feeling you already knew this. Perhaps in the near future I’ll make a list of The Best Things I’ve Read/Seen on LJ.

Q: WHERE DO I GO TO FIND SUPERNATURAL SOUND CLIPS? PREFERABLY DEAN, PREFERABLY DEAN SAYING ‘BRING ME SOME PIE!’ Ha.

Oh man, yesterday I found out the girl I was housesitting with - and her boyfriend - are into Supernatural. Which excited me because, apart from you guys I don’t actually know people who get excited about the prospect of watching the boys. So, I had my Season 2 DVD’s with me and we sat down to watch and her boyfriend made some random comment about the brothers being really gay, which, loll. Then she turns around and informs me - hahahahahaha - that Jensen’s brother in real life is gay. She was serious. For a moment I’m all, bzuuuuuuh? How did I miss that? Then I stopped and went, WTF, his brother’s married and has a kid. When I told her this she was all, no, really, I read it online.

Hahahaha, so perhaps she’s stumbled upon something fan-made and gotten the wires crossed, or something. Anyway, it was kind of hilarious. I suppose you had to be there.

So, in spirit of The Best People I’ve Met on LJ, I’d like you to help me ‘celebrate’ my three years by telling me your fondest memories of LJ, or of me, and if you comment here I’ll tell you my fondest memories of you! I love you all, I hope you’re all good.

recs, fries with that, lj landmarks
