Chapter 8.
--------------
“Hannie-ah… I did something really stupid.”
A sigh sounded from the other end of the line, making Hankyung’s chest tighten. Jungsu wouldn’t have to say it out loud for him to know he’d been with Youngwoon last night. He’d known it in the back of his mind, but had thought better of Jungsu than to actually grab onto the string Youngwoon held oh so invitingly in front of his nose.
Hankyung sighed as well and pinched the bridge of his nose, his grip around the cell phone tightening. “Jungsu,” he paused, “Why didn’t you call me and let me talk you out of going with him?”
He heard Jungsu sigh on the other end and shuffle around, probably rolling onto his side in bed. “I don’t know Hannie. I couldn’t refuse and you know how he is…” The Chinese man scoffed, “I know he breaks your heart every time you two get close.”
The silence was everything that was needed to confirm it.

’I feel so out of place…’
Yesung bit his lip and sat there on the curb of his apartment complex, silently fidgeting with the hem of his white shirt. He was nervous; really nervous. Kibum was supposed to come pick him up any minute for work. He’d promised the other day after he’d learned that Yesung either walked or took the bus to work and would have nothing of it, as he’d said, ”A rising star like you shouldn’t walk, you need to ride with style!” And as the sound of a motorcycle buzzed closer, Yesung’s heart almost jumped into his throat as he watched Kibum nearly crash into a parked car on the other side of the street.
It was dumb luck that he avoided it. Kibum parked the black motorcycle in front of Yesung and took of his helmet, grinning like a damn fool down at the surprised singer. “Hey, sorry for being late.” And Yesung wondered why his heart stayed in his throat and wondered about the pounding sound in his ears as the sight of Kibum’s brilliant smile burned into his memory.
“Get on.” He said and held out a helmet much like the one was wearing himself. Yesung blinked dumbfoundedly and looked from the helmet to Kibum, then back to the helmet and he realized what it was Kibum was implying.
“Oh, hell no.”

“Honestly, I don’t know how this café can keep running with the lack of people here.”
Hankyung looked up at Heechul from his place at the stove where he was currently decorating a batch of muffins.
“The boss doesn’t show up and two of the other oafs are late. Is this what you call good service?” The blonde was tapping his foot impatiently against the floor and had a look of, ‘the world is unfair’ on his face. Hankyung just laughed and shook his head, once again returning to his muffins. “Well today is a slow day so it’s not like we need them all here. Today is Jungsu’s day off anyway.”
Heechul wasn’t pleased and snorted, running his fingers through his blonde bangs. “Hmpf, you’re too much of a softie, Hankyung yah. If you don’t want people to know that you’re in love with the boss, then don’t act so much like a retarded fool. Honestly, most people today don’t have any subtlety.” He murmured as he made his way out of the kitchen again while Hankyung was left there, blinking and stunned at the sudden declaration.
In love?

“Hyung! What are you doing here?”
Donghae nearly dropped the trey he was holding as Jungsu walked in through the café’s doors and sprinted over to hug the older man. Jungsu laughed and patted Donghae’s head, smiling brightly at his affection. “I came down to see how everything was doing today and to apologize for not showing up yesterday.” He smiled at Donghae’s expression of understanding, “Why didn’t you come? You should have seen it! Yesung hyung was awesome! He’s a better singer than I’d thought he would be.”
“Hey, I resent that.” The raven haired singer exclaimed as he walked through the door, glaring towards Donghae. Yesung pulled off the helmet and emerged with a grinning Kibum behind him. “And you,” Yesung glared over his shoulder towards the younger actor, “need to learn how to drive properly! Honestly, your driving is ridiculous. You could've killed someone.”
“Aww, hyung come on, it wasn't that bad. I got around that old lady and the truck.” Kibum tried defending himself - although the few lessons he'd actually attended had been minuscule; no one needed to know that though.
Jungsu laughed and looked towards the two while he tried to pry a very clingy Donghae off his side. “You two sound like an old married couple.”
Both of them stiffened for a second before locking glances and then turning away from each other a second later, “W-what are you talking about Jungsu hyung? I'd never be with someone as reckless and irresponsible as Kibum.” Kibum flushed and turned, crossing his arms over his chest in the process. “Yesung hyung is way too cautious. He needs to learn how to live a little more. Excuse me, I think Hankyung needs me in the kitchen.”
The oldest of them all watched with an amused look on his face as he caught Yesung's eyes follow the leaving Kibum. He was happy that they were all settling in, getting to know each other better and getting comfortabl---”Donghae, let go of my leg!”
Hankyung stood in the doorway to the kitchen and watched Jungsu quietly, watching him for anything that might hint that he would approach him sometime today and talk to him about yesterday, about Youngwoon; but as the hours passed it seemed like it wasn't to be and all Hankyung could do, was wait - like he'd done since way back then.
