facing daily chronic migraines again...

For the first time in over 10 years I am facing terrible migraines that plauge me all through out the entire day, every day. Except unlike 10 years ago I now live almost 2 plus hours away from my job(1 -1.5 originally but due to constand construction on the main highway it's been horrible). I'm so sorry you are having such a hard time. I can feel your distress and recognise it, though what you are going through sounds far worse than anything I've suffered.

You asked about preventatives - I thought it might be useful to mention that in the past couple of years pizotifen has really worked for me. I've gone from having around 15 days of migraine/headache with one very severe migraine with repeated vomiting once a month (this one lasting a few days). Basically no preventative got rid of this vomiting migraine until I tried pizotifen and I've now been free of having that for over 2 years. However there are side effects - weight gain (very common for this preventative), irritability and very low sex drive (the latter I've not seen anyone else mention, but it's definitely an effect of the medication for me). On the plus side it helps me sleep. Preventatives are difficult though, since everyone responds differently to them. I hope you are able to find something that works. I also found amitryptyline helped smooth things out a bit, but it didn't stop the vomiting migraine.
