freedom costs a buck oh five

the first and second granddaughters of vincent and annette decosta. corey came shortly after me. we never liked to share our toys. corey liked to cry these big crocodile tears that got her out of any trouble that may have ensued, and i liked to scream at the top of my lungs which quickly labeled me as the 'brat.' over 19 years has passed since we have been a part of each other's lives, and we have been more opposite than night and day through all of them. corey was goofy and i was quiet. i smiled in pictures and she would cross her eyes. it didn't bother her in the least that she went to summer school every summer of high school, and i couldn't wait to wear the yellow cord around my neck at graduation. i was always jealous of her energy, and i suppose she was jealous of my ability to stay on topic for more than five minutes. no two cousins have i ever met that complement each other better than i find corey and i to. our families still view us as night and day, their visions of our lives completely misconstrued by what appears to be. although we seem to be so different, when we are together we are simply one big personality feeding off of everything each does and says. so here is to a cousinship stronger this year than it ever has been in the past, and to a person who has never made me laugh so hard in my life without even trying.

she moves to charlotte in the fall for school, and i have never been more proud of anyone.

corey linn quiqley + sara louise smith = best cousins forever <3
