-45- [Video] - If you're human you won't understand him

Jun 27, 2010 02:41

[The screen comes on, and the first thing that is seen is Xerxes, who flips away from the camera and floats somewhere above -- his tail is still hanging in view, and a lithe cat alights the desk and sits down.]

That will do, Xerxes.

[If you're a human, all you hear is this]

I am not serving drinks like this.

Shego, are you affected?

I don't have a ( Read more... )

[Paddy opens Mozenrath's door, on Shego's instruction.] Right, I'm letting you out. You... have a grand fucking time out here.

[Mozenrath bounds down from his desk and pads merrily out the door, but he stops, sniffing the air as he looks up at Paddy. And some instinctual line between his human memories and the mind and body he had now click together, and he has one thought: food.]

Mowr.

[He sits, peering up at him.]

[Paddy looks down at the cat a little skeptically, wondering if he can understand him.] I cut up some meat in the kitchen or... I can probably do fish. Something. Get your arse down there, you'll find something.

[They weren't actually animals, in his head, so... talking to them was just fine.]

[And just like that Mozenrath starts down the hallway, headed for the nearest set of stairs so he can go to the kitchen. But he stops to make sure Paddy is following.]

[Paddy follows on, if only because he was going that way anyway.]

[And he talks to him the entire way, tail in the air, matching pace with him as best he can. Not understandable really, but this is standard hungry cat behavior -- it's better to see that way than hear what he's actually saying.]

[Paddy, who was used to dogs and a snake at most just gave Mozenrath a curious look,] You're... I can't fucking believe how ridiculous this is.

[Coming into the kitchen the first thing Mozenrath does is jump onto a counter so that he can stand more at level with him.]

Mowr.

[Paddy shoos him with his hand,] Off the fucking counter or you get fuck all, mate. OFF.

[He does not like animals anywhere around his kitchen, but went to find him some... fish, yeah, that'd do.]

[He jumps down but complains all the way, then waits patiently on the floor for him to come back -- right up until he smells the fish. He didn't expect to have this reaction, but he went from hungry to 'yes, that's exactly what I want'. More talking, compounded with a heavy, insistent purring -- that's a weird sensation. He stands up on his hind legs, bracing his forepaws on the side of the counter as though this will make him tall enough to see over the edge.]

Mowwwwr.

[His eyes, unknown to him, have also suddenly crossed.]

[Paddy thought that was actually really, really quite cute, but daren't say or do anything about it, because he knew Mozenrath would really resent that. So, instead, he got the fish, quickly cut off it's head and tail and put it on a plate or something, then left it just outside the kitchen door, giving Mozenrath a gentle push away from the side] Go, go get, Mr Wizard. It's fucking fish, that's what you guys eat, yeah?

[Mozenrath isn't really thinking about what he's doing right now, he just follows the plate and proceeds to eat -- loudly. Which is less about being cute and more instinctual territorial this is MY FISH noise.]

[Paddy just watches, curiously. This, he concludes, is why he's never had a cat. He does take that as a very good sign, though.]

[Mozenrath eats about half the fish before he decides he's not interested in it anymore, but he looks around quickly to make sure no other animals will come along and eat it before wandering back into the kitchen. He looks up at Paddy, who he knows doesn't understand him. But then he can't say this is a total downside. He never would have expected the man to get things for him before, and for the time being he can trust him not to attack him or step on him, which is more than he can say for others.]

...

[His ears twitch backward and forward, and he begins to clean one of his paws. He's noticed a lot of things that he's started to do, often without thinking, since this transformation. He has heightened senses, and perhaps some physical abilities he can use to his advantage. He wouldn't mind a safe place in order to explore them. Right now, if say -- a grumpy cheetah came into the kitchen and tried to eat him, Paddy would probably put a stop to it. So why should he leave?]

Staying, are we? [He frowns a bit, but shrugs it off,] Just stay the hell out of the actual kitchen. But lurk out there as much as you can. [He's sort of presuming that Mozenrath can understand him, even if he doesn't understand anything the cat's saying.]

Mowr [He is still purring. And Honestly by now he doesn't care. He has what he wants and he knows what he is doing and it is a simple way to convey that. A little bolder, he tries something risky. He sniffs the air again, then slides against the man's leg -- nose first. Of course this might be taken as a sign of affection. But cats don't love anyone. Like most highly-worshiped animals, they hate everyone. Their breed and age just determine how passive aggressively they do it. He? Just wants to see how easy it would be to leave his scent on something.]
