Carrie only got out of bed before dawn without being nagged for one reason. On one particular Saturday morning, she was the one doing the nagging.

"Come on, Daddy, get your clothes on! I'll get your coffee for you," she whispered so she wouldn't wake her mother.

Mr. Davis laughed sleepily. "Okay, kiddo, go fix my coffee and I'll be there in a minute."

He loved her excitement. Neither of his sons, both grown and moved out, ever got this excited about fishing. He felt it was because they were boys, and boys are supposed to fish with their fathers; Carrie, on the other hand, valued her time with her Daddy. She could shop and talk about whatever girls talk about with her mom and her sisters, but they were no fun to fish with.

"I packed us a lunch," Carrie told her father as he entered the kitchen. "PB&J for you, ham and cheese for me. And some crackers."

"And moon pies for breakfast?" Mr. Davis winked.

"Yes, Daddy, I didn't forget!"
