Last Saturday, after years spent thinking about it, I FINALLY got another tattoo. This one wasn't the design I've had stored away in my head for the past decade, it was something I came up with fairly recently (a mere six months or so ago).
The during part. It wasn't that bad.
So what is it? It's a line from a Puccini opera aria ("Chi il bel sogno di Doretta," La Rondine). I can sing this aria. This is my way of accepting that I'm never going to be a professional singer. The text means "My dream" in Italian. It was my dream for so long to be an opera singer. I know it's not happening. I will sing for my own enjoyment and that of friends & family but I'm not going to be the next Anna Netrebko.
Of course as soon as this one was done I knew I had to get another one and this time I'm not waiting 12 years. I have two designs ready to go, one of them the one I've had on my list for over 10 years. I was saving it for when I finished losing weight. Well, I've been done with that for a while, so no more waiting!
