On the few job intervies that ive been on since ive been looking for work there has been one recurring question that has posed some difficulty. "Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years?". I just want to take the time to point something out about this question.
first of all its a bullshit question, for a couple of reasons. The first reason is because what its really asking is; do you plan on staying at this position if we give it to you?
Secondly, you cant really answer literally, because at the present my answer would be "If Im not picked to fill your position, probably living in a carboard box, and stabbing other homeless vagrants in order to survive."
And third, you cant even answer it truthfully because if you have any kind of ambition at all that then youre "overqualified" and youve wasted your time.
i probably should have been prepared for that question, that way i could have come up with some creative and artful way of blowing complete smoke up the interviewers ass. but whatever.
