Mother's Day

I received the new form of the contract on Saturday, and now it definitely shows "Master Syllabus" as the service provided. I spoke with the Dean also, who told me that there's really no way that they could stop me from using the syllabus someplace else, and echoed my argument that a syllabus is easily constructed and copied from any source, given that it's simply a list of topics. So there will be no problem with me teaching this course anywhere else. w00t!

The Moms and I had a belated Mother's Day celebration this afternoon. I was away, helping out at Mr. J and bluedragon73's place, so Sunday was out. LC was the sister in charge yesterday, so we simply had separate moments with our mother. I took an hour walking around Target, trying to figure out what I was going to get her. Initially, I'd planned on getting her roses, but then decided on heading over to the store instead. I entertained the notion of, and rejected several gift ideas, including earrings, nice sheets for her bed, pajamas and a teddy bear. Finally it struck me that a movie would be a nice idea. It so happened that there was a section of reasonably priced DVDs, containing movies that I thought she would enjoy. After much deliberation, I picked Guarding Tess and What Dreams May Come, along with a pretty card in the shape of a red rose, her favorite flower. I'm off tomorrow as well, so I plan on going over to the Moms, cross stitch projects in bag, ready to watch one of her gifts with her. I'm partial to watching What Dreams May Come, as I have yet to see it, and have wanted to for quite some time.

Must go. I feel gross after my workout, and 24 is coming on at 9:20 tonight.

Notes from the basement
