Valkurm Thickets
One day, I decided to meripo during NA primetime. The results:
NA party #1
Setup: WAR/WAR/WAR/MNK(me)/BRD
- Get to camp, but the JP WHM decides to take a Grand Tour of Vana'diel before using the Runic Portal. I don't know what was going through this WHM's mind, but she decided to Vazhl->Bastok->Windurst without saying a word about what she was doing, where she was going, or even if she would come back. So, the leader kicks her and starts looking for another healer.
- Another PT member says one of his members is a RDM and can come...great! Except he's leveling NIN in Boyahda.
- Leader gets impatient and says the magic words "lets kill shit while we wait for him".
- 15 minutes later, the NIN-hopefully-coming-RDM is still in Boyahda. We're getting chain #11. Puks are truly the Mandragoras of high level parties - any group of retards can kill one.
- After noting the sheer retardedness of fighting Puks without any sort of healing (yes, that's right, nobody in the party could cast Cure), the leader apologizes and disbands the party.
NA party #2
Setup: WAR/WAR/WAR/WAR/BRD(me)/RDM
- Camped near the zone on the north side. RDM is a fucking RETARD who subbed BLM because he doesn't have WHM leveled. So this means that I'm the sole source of Curagas and status cures. Good job mate, thanks for giving me even more to do on top of pulling and songs.
- Refused to sleep or enfeeble because 'mamools are resistant to sleep'.
- Nobody provoked my pulls, so I was left to fend for myself when the links woke up.
- Highlight of the PT was seeing a person named 'Superhume' pull a massive train of Mamools, only to die 3 steps from the zone.
NA party #3
Setup: WAR/NIN/NIN/MNK(me)/BRD/WHM
- Camped on the southern slope. WHM warps a bit ahead of us, goes to Mamook (?) and comes out before FINALLY noticing that he's in 'skillup gear'. Who the fuck skills up in Errant? He asks if he can warp back to get his gear, but as we're busy killing shit, nobody responds. Eventually he does warp back, leaving the BRD as the sole healer.
- WHM had macros that announced his MP status after every cure. He also had stupid /p macros for his cures, which meant he flooded the chat log
- BRD was casting double minuet. I had to request Minuet+March.
- Maybe one of the updates disabled the 'Provoke' JA for NA clients. There is no other explanation why nobody provoked after a Rushing Drub takes me down to ~500 HP and I take two more hits before hate shifted. Nobody provokes off the BRD either.
- One of the WARs D/C's and doesn't return. I follow his lead.
Can anyone explain to me why people seem to have forgotten basic partying skills - indeed, even the basic functions of their job - while PTing in Thickets?
