Interactive risk map, climate change, and recycling plastic for roads

Places in the US that face the most environmental risk. An interesting interactive map!

Climate change beliefs are starkly partisan: What Americans believe about climate change depends almost entirely on their political affiliation and not their scientific understanding, according to a new national study that found the same dynamic in two regions of Southeast Alaska. Anchorage Alaska Dispatch, Alaska.

OMG FAIL. But not surprising for anyone who's been following climate change news. This just goes to show that scientists REALLY need to do a better job of communicating to the public and not let the science get muddled up by media or politics. Climate change has nothing to do with whether you're a Democrat or a Republican or independent - it has to do with ALL of us on this planet.

Where the roads are paved with plastic.: The entire world is struggling with how to combat pollution from plastic, given its long life. But in Bangalore, India, they may have found a use for this scourge: roads. Australia ABC News, Australia.

Quote from the article that I completely agree with: Ian Kiernan, Chairman and Founder of Clean Up Australia and Clean Up the World thinks both [reducing plastics and finding ways to get rid of it] need to happen simultaneously. While it's great to try and reduce plastic waste, "eliminating plastic entirely isn't realistic," he says.

Really great innovative way to reuse material in a cost efficient way.
