Birthday Shenanigans and other mutterings...

My birthday is approaching in less than 3 weeks...

My plans thus far are...

Group birthday shindig at Snake Mountain on Saturday, January 22nd. I guess there are 4 of us with birthdays around this time of the year. Not sure if there will be a musical theme this time, but I made mention for King Diamond/Merciful Fate.

Metal Monday at the 2 Bit Saloon in Ballard. Year of the Serpent are playing. And I batted my eyelashes at Tanith and asked if he'd see if Forest of Grey are willing to play and fill in the open 3rd band slot for the evening. That shall be shiny if they are able to play.

I was contemplating going to Voltaire, but with my finances the way they are, I'm not sure I can afford it.

So, for my friends of the more goffy nature, I will be out at Afterbirth at the Merc on the 26th instead.

If you are of a metal persuasion and wish to attend the party at Snake Mountain, just let me know and I'll get you directions. They're usually open house parties. BYOB and sometimes they have a grill going.

Went to a show at Studio 7 last night. Great locals, crappy 'touring' band.

If you are going to portray yourself as 'eeeeevil' with your whole operatic symphonic luciferian black metal, DON'T BUY YOUR STAGE GEAR AT HOT TOPIC! But that's just a suggestion really. Oh, and if you're going to wear those spikey upper arm bracers, make sure they're not too sizes too big. And it really does help if your chick vocalist can actually sing. Just sayin'.

I had friends doubled over laughing with side cramps after cracking jokes about the bands stage gear. I couldn't help it. I was in a catty mood it seems. :P

So yes, new year has started. Trying to get out to more shows again this year.

A friend has asked me if I would like to join him on a cruise to Alaska sometime this year. We've babbled about it off and on for a couple years, but it'll be cool if it actually happens. It all depends on our financial situations and such.

Okay, back to that work thing. Wheeee!
