Condensed Rants (from which I've previously spared you)

1. End of Quarter never really meant anything to me before, but now with my latest forays into the world of bookkeeping and accounting with the two accounts I'm handling for my Dad... You should all be thankful that I've spared you from reading about my Adventures with Quickbooks and my impressions on its many many shortcomings, especially when it comes to inputting old data.

1.a. We won't mention how my heart sings every time my father has called me in the past five days, multiple times per day, asking me "are you finished yet?", and telling me how simple it all is when 1) he doesn't really know how to use the program that well himself and doesn't know how to do what he's asked me to do, and 2) I went to a whopping two classes in Cost Accounting my freshman year of college before dropping the fucker like a bad habit, I've never even done my own taxes, and he's been an accountant for 40 years.

2. I had to spend more money to upgrade my Norton Antivirus so I could continue to have access to their live updates services, and again I'll spare you my ranting about software providers and how they suck you dry left and right.

3. I'm still having "issues" with Firefox's newest upgrade as both Gmail and Yahoo.com refuse to recognize it as a fully supported browser, and both Firefox Help and Gmail Help suck harder than a vacuum. The sites work fine in IE, but I despise IE.

4. They raised my maintenance $.08 cents per share (I have @946 shares) because the insurance premium for the building skyrocketed - when they renewed the policy for the building, the cost increased by over $75,000.00/year because of Hurricane coverage. All of the insurance carriers raised their rates after Katrina, and the 75K increase was the cheapest they found. Bastards. I hate insurance companies.

5. Pending the results of my blood tests from Tuesday, I get to start Medication of Doom II ™ on Monday. Peachy.

6. I bought a new narrow bookcase so I don't have to keep my work stuff all over the floor anymore (and might even have room for some, you know, books) but I'm too lazy to clear out the space where it's going to go and put it together.

7. I am out of wine.

8. I have plenty of whine.

I need a vacation. Bleh.

whinging, rants
