Oh, hey, my icons are back to being alphabetical by keyword for the comment boxes! \o/
Ugh, work-wise, this month isn't really any better than last month was. Every day I think, "I should post something!" only, I really don't have anything interesting to post about. I was reading these really god-awful cheesy romance novels for a bit, but thankfully I got that out of my system. I'd almost forgotten just how purple prose could be, just how ridiculous the "I love you at first sight, but we must fight for 300 pages with OTT UST and a few almost-sleep-together close calls first." Also, if I never see or hear lacy lingerie described as 'froth' ever again in my life, it won't be too soon. (Or that some "wisp" of lace and silk is something that ALL WOMEN would die for.) I have no idea WHY I was reading these books either. It was like a train wreck you can't look away from. Funny how that happens sometimes.
So now I'm (re)reading the FMA manga, and I'm far happier. (I'd only read it online before, and I bought the box set a couple months ago.) I really love that manga (and anime!) so, so much! Hughes!! I will love you forever and ever!
I suppose I should mention I was nominated for a next-gen award over at (aptly enough)
nextgen_awards for my Teddy/James; Teddy/Charlie fic, Some Days are Diamonds (Some Days are Rocks) in the Best Slash Romance category, which was surprising. Lots of good stories are nominated, so go check it out if you're so inclined. (It's the top post at the comm.) Frankly, I don't put much stock in most fic awards, but it is nice to know people appreciate your stories, so that's always a plus. \o/
Also glad to hear that JKR's new book will be out this year. I'm looking forward to it, but I'm not looking forward to the inevitable comparisons to HP or the inevitable wankstorm it will bring. Ah, well, I hope it's entertaining at least. Probably not, though.
Oh! The mission specialists in charge of the New Horizons expedition to Pluto are trying to get enough signatures on
their petition for the US Postal Service to issue a New Horizons stamp. If anything, you should add your name because the stamp design is very pretty! (which is, of course, the only criteria that matters. Spacey Goodness stamps FTW!)
And now I've got to see call a guy about a horse new billing program, and funnily enough, he's a horse guy and it's a program for horse farm billing. Just one more thing to add to the pile.
