Thank you for stopping by

Just a quick hello. I was sick last week, as in the food poisoning kind (the kind that has sort of put me off fresh vegetables for the time being since I'm pretty sure broccoli was the culprit) so I decided to spare you the details and didn't post at all. I was lurking about, reading posts and stuff, but not particularly saying much. Really, I'm not ignoring you, I promise!

And this week, my apartment is being painted - in fact, the guys will be arriving in about 4 hours, and I still have shit to clear off before they get here. (Getting chatchkas off my shelves and tables and stuff, putting a few things away - namely all of my shoes that are all over the place, and clearing out my cabinets in the kitchen because they're going to take them down and fix them.)

I'm going to have them do my office last (and they'll have to because I still have work shit everwhere!) but my computer time is still going to be severely interrupted, and I don't know how much I'll be around. I was going to go stay with my sister while they were working, but my dad and I decided we didn't want to give them my keys with unfettered access. It's not that I don't trust them, and really, so little of my stuff would even be worth the effort of stealing it, but the painter is an acquaintance, not someone we know well, so... *shrug*

So, much of this week will consist of me freezing for having my windows and terrace door wide open so I don't succumb to paint fumes, boxing and moving things around like crazy so the painters can take down my cabinets and actually move my furniture to get to the walls to spackle/paint them, and trying to get as much of my work done today and Tuesday as possible. Not to mention I'm having my shades/blinds cleaned (and holy shit do they need it!) so all of my neighbors will be able to peep in at me (which means no walking about in my undies, which is fine because windows will be open and I will be freezing anyway).

I'm so not in the mood for this. Bleh. But my apartment shall look very pretty with nicely painted, colorful walls that no longer have cracks and peeling paint in places. After ten years, this was looooong overdue! As always, link me to any good stuff and try not to blow things up while I'm gone. (But if you do, don't forget to take pictures!)
