I'm back, take two

So, last Thursday night I started having really bad spasming pains on my right side (that wouldn't stop), just below my ribs. Friday morning I was back at the emergency room where I had an ultrasound, X-Rays, a CAT scan and then was admitted. Then I had another CAT scan and some nuclear medicine scan - kind of MRI-like - where I was injected with radiation stuff and had to lay under and in a scanning thingy for two hours while it took images of my liver and gall bladder and kidneys. At 2:00 a.m. Fun fun fun.

The diagnosis? Still unknown. I have gall stones - we've known about that for almost two years, but they were never a problem. And they're still not really a problem - my gall bladder was fine, and so was my liver, my kidneys and everything else. I had some fluid and edema in my intestines where I was reconnected - totally normal - but nothing to really account for the severity of the pain was evident in any of the tests. One of the gall stones may have moved a bit and then moved away and back to neutral territory - that's the best guess at the moment. When I first started feeling pain, I honestly thought it was gas pain, but it didn't move.

So, I got a 4 1/2 day 'holiday', I got some pain meds for a bit, got IV fluids at a rate that made me pee every hour (and needless to say I didn't sleep much!) no food for a couple of days, and now I'm home (at my sis') and showered (thank god!), and the pain spasms seem to have abated, though I'm still sore.

So, how are all of you??

teh sick
