Today has been a remarkably good day, considering that there is nothing inherently special about it. In fact, I woke up this morning feeling very unrested and emphatically not wanting to get up. But I had work, and then class, so I struggled out of bed. And my landlord walked in the door (front door, not bedroom door, thank goodness) with donuts. Delicious, bakery-fresh donuts. How incredibly awesome is that? Then my first class was a movie, so I didn't have to worry about thinking. Then my second class was canceled. And now I just loved one of the student pieces for workshop this week, which almost never happens because student writing is mostly pretty meh, especially first drafts. All in all, very sweet.
Did you know that phlegm, in addition to being the gross stuff that comes out of you when you have a cold, is also a synonym for apathy? So if I were to say, "I'm feeling phlegmy today," you really wouldn't know if I was congested and full of mucus or just somewhat indifferent. I love it.
My twenty-second birthday is this Saturday. How the hell did I get to be so old? Most of the time I still feel like a teenager.
