I have just come to the surprising realization that I have completed all my homework for the next couple days. I have two days before I need to do any more homework. That's not to say I won't be doing homework in that time, just that I don't need to. Hopefully I will be able to start work on my Social Movements paper and revise "Aeroplasty" (finally).

I got an e-mail the other day from the director of the Lincoln Studies Center, which is vaguely associated with Knox. I was recommended to them as someone who might be interested in doing a project there. The project is to collect, photocopy, and transcribe reminiscences of the Galesburg Lincoln/Douglas debate, which occurred on campus (actually at the building where I take the majority of my classes--there's a chair in which Lincoln sat in one of the rooms). It's a paid, year-long position that might culminate in an independent study or honors project. Basically, it's the perfect solution to my internship problem. They'll be interviewing candidates next week, and I really, really hope I get the position. The time commitment might mean that I have to quit my job at the library, which would suck, but I really need something for my experiential learning requirement, and this would be perfect.

So yeah. Last night, some friends and I went to see some Tuvan throat singers on campus. They were amazing--I had no idea it was possible to do those things with your voice. Supposedly it's quite rare for them to make an appearance in the US. So that was fantastic. Then my suitemates and I played nerts, which is ridiculously fun and which I am apparently ridiculously good at. I've only played three times, but I won by a considerable margin both the second and third times. Go me. Then a few of us watched Benny and Joon, and then we ended up staying up talking until 4am. Fun times.

...I still haven't caught up on entries. Sorry, folks.
