Little Miracles

So today I was in a car wreck.

Kim, Trish, and I were heading back to Berea from Richmond in Kim's car. We dropped Kim off at Fairchild to take our stuff in and Trish and I continued on to student parking, with Trish driving and me sitting in the rear right passenger side. We're turning into student parking, clearly in the right lane with our lights on, and we get t-boned exactly where I am sitting. Kim's Mustang is hit with such impact that it jumps onto the curb. For a second we're both stunned, then Trish jumps out of the car and runs over to my side, asking if I'm okay. We're both fine, just really surprised. Our friend Brian, who had been walking up the sidewalk heard the crash and came running down to check on us. The guy who hit us (we are now calling him the fat ugly chiropractor with a girlfriend who is his cousin and also a male) sits in his car for the longest time and we're almost afraid it was a hit and run (in which case I would have jumped on his car). It just showed how hard he hit us that his Corolla is still straight and the Mustang went up on the curb.

He sits on his cell phone for a minute (we're fairly certain that he was talking on it when he hit us) and finally got out and called the police. He tells us that he thought we were in the center lane (?) and that he thought we were turning left (is he on crack?) Obviously, he was making up excuses because we were not a)in the center lane nor b) turning left. How do you miss a red Mustang with black racing stripes? Brian offered to pick up Kim at Fairchild because she had to print off a copy of her insurance, although she did have it, and we waited in the rain for about fifteen minutes. Trish had to call the police again, and found out that the guy had told them the wrong location because he "wasn't from around here and didn't know." Then why didn't he ask? We stood in the rain for about an hour, stunned and a very shaken up. Kim was really worried about the insurance and stuff.

Finally the cop got there, and we all exchanged information. Brian stayed with us like the good guy he is, then we walked back to campus. Everyone and his brother on campus saw us as they went in and out of student parking, but merely looked or asked a quick, "are you okay?" Anyway, it was a miracle that we weren't hurt, and it was a miracle that it wasn't any worse and that the car still drives. I'm still pretty out of it, and it was like six hours ago. Thankfully, tomorrow starts my Thanksgiving break :D Hope everyone has a good one.
