Walmart & Karlyn

Dec 11, 2005 17:07

Last night after watching "Syriana" and nearly jumping out of my skin, Karlyn made me go to Walmart.

I'd like to note that the last time I was at Walmart it was also Karlyn's fault, and that I love her despite her tendencies to make me go to Walmart. I'd also like to take this opportunity to remind her that last night in the Walmart parking lot she said, "Hey Jessie, lets not go to Walmart ever again." I'm going to hold her to those words.

Karlyn hates to shop. I am a reformed shopper, so while I may dislike shopping in a general sense these days I am familiar with its customs and practices. Any time I enter a store with Karlyn I think to myself, "is it possible that Karlyn has never been in a store before?" Then I remember that I have thought this on other occasions and I giggle quietly to myself. I love that Karlyn doesn't know how to shop. Its funny. I do not love Walmart, and hopefully she really won't make me go there ever again.

Here's another reason Karlyn is funny- She needed some thread, and didn't buy it last night (at Walmart) but instead elected to go to another store for it (by herself) today. She chose Michaels.

Karlyn: S H I T
Me: what?
Karlyn: Karlyn's thoughts "Michaels is a craft's store. It won't be innundated with shoppers like the Walmart. It will be about as crowded as any craft's store, ever."
Me: haha
Karlyn: Everyone in San Antonio: "Let's go to Michael's"
Me: oh yeah.
Me: i'm sorry
Karlyn: "Let's just stand around and look at garlands."
Me: haha
Karlyn: Michaels: "YOu know what I fucking hate? Thread. I can only stand like 10 spools of it at a time. And 4 of those are going to be black."
Karlyn: "Also, 3 of those will be 100% polyester."
Karlyn: haha
Karlyn: but I got what I needed
Me: well, thats good
Karlyn: and it was near a best buy (And a Marshall's!) so I could be doubly productive

Karlyn and I have both noticed that Michaels and Marshalls tend to flock together. As do Barnes & Noble and Best Buy.

All of this entertains me greatly, but probably just makes me sound weird to you.

Whatever.
