Pains, Meds, and Automobiles

Hay hay haaaay!!!!

So yes I know it's been a while, I had this kick where I was going to bed around 8:30, passing out on my bed in my clothes and shoes and everything. Well, thankfully, that has stopped, and I managed to get back to a normal sleeping schedule. That hasn't happened in a few days.

An explanation? I got my tonsils out on Wednesday, and my wonderful meds have kept me on a quasi-regular sleeping habit. I say quasi, because I sleep during the night I wake up around 6ish, but then I sleep on and off all day. The pain's bearable if I stick with my med schedule. It gets pretty bad when it starts wearing off. My scabs have started falling off,  which they chose to do so 4 days early, so the pain has gotten worse. It hurts to talk, eat, and swallow, and I can't wait until this crap is over. However, I have managed to perfect the milky mashed potatoes/ beef broth combo. It's pretty delicious. I've already gone through 4 bottles of apple juice, a few boxes of jello, quite a few snakc packs, so I've been keepin myself fairly nourished.

But enough about that. Since I've been home, I've managed to watch quite a few movies and series!! So onto reviews!!

What ever happened to Baby Jane?
This has one of my all time favorites- Bette Davis. It's about a child star who is now much older and is jealous of her younger sister's success in her later years. She treats her sister, who is now in a wheelchair due to an atuomoblie accident, terribly. Her sister? Joan Crawford. It's a very twisted movie, nothing like either of them had starred in before. I devoured the movie, especially with the fabulous twists and turns that were involved.

Crank 2: High Voltage
Jason Stamham, I love you. You're hot, you're an Londoner, but this movie was terrible. I'm glad I took my meds right before I watched, because it made me fall asleep. Awesome.

Death Note 1 & 2
This is a Japanese series based on Manga, which ya'll all know I don't read. But, it kept comming through and it's concept intrigued me. So I finally checked them both out. I loved the first one, the sequel wasn't so great. It's bascially about this notebook, called 'Death Note,' and if you write someone's name in it, they die of a heart attack. Unless you choose to write down how and when they die. The Death Note comes with a price, naturally, but the way it plays out is fabulous. Light, the main character, comes across the DN, and discovers its powers. He then uses it to kill criminals that are on death row. Naturally, the public is mostly against it, but some are torn. The Japanese FBI gets involved, and the cheif is Light's dad. They bring in a young genius, L, to figure out who 'Kiro,' as Light's persona is called. It was very good for the most part, I just with I can watch the original, Japanese-speaking version.

True Blood
I FINALLY started watching this series, which I loved the books, so I was eager to get into the series. It's not too bad. I'm not a huge Anna Paquin fan, so it kinda kills it for me. Some of the casting is dead on, but some of it's terrible. And I think they focus on the wrong sub characters. Some of it is exactly like the book, almost verbatum, but then there's some scenes that are added in, and well, they just don't need to be there. But alas, I've only gotten through 4 episodes, so we'll see.

Firefly
Thanks to Jen for letting me borrow this. I;ve gotten through a few eps, and it's not so bad. I think I need to do a marathon for this series, it just feels that was to me. But I'm a little confused by the whole 'country renegade' theme. I'll have to ask someone to explain.

And finally...
GLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

WHERE HAVE I BEEN?!?! I've only watched 2 episodes, and I LOVE it!! I'm so glad Weeme shook me and told me to watch it. I LOVE it. I don't like Will's wife. She sucks. And I couldn't figure out why Rachel looked SO familiar. And then it hit me- she was the lead in SPRING AWAKENING!!!! Awesome sauce. I look forward to this series!! Yay!!

That's about it- I have to take my meds, so it's bedtime!!

Peace out, cub scouts!!
