Angelica arrived in the City on May 31, 2010 and was immediately admitted to the Orchard Clinic and placed in Doctor Mid-Nite's care due to her breast cancer. She'd had a lumpectomy literally an hour prior to her arrival in the City and was in a state of trauma for several days following. During this time she was also cared for by Rikki Barnes and Yukina.
After her release from the hospital, she was invited by Emma Frost (her former teacher) to live at Xavier's. Angelica accepted the offer and befriended Sally Blevins while rekindling friendships with Sam Guthrie and Felicia Hardy. She also met the amnesiac Wanda Maximoff and was invited to her housewarming party. It was at this party that she became reacquainted with Pietro Maximoff, and the two of them spent the evening on Wanda and Gemma's roof together. While on the roof, she impulsively asked Pietro to kiss her and was shocked when he did.
About a week later, they went on an official date. On this date, Pietro took her to her hometown in New Jersey to see the house she grew up in and to various other City locales. That night, Angelica lost her virginity to Pietro, and they essentially became an official item. She broke the news to her friends soon after, leaving most of them in a state of shock. One of the exceptions was Piotr Rasputin, who gave the couple his support and would give Angelica art lessons over the summer.
Over the next month, things became tense with Wanda. Wanda was infuriated by Pietro's lack of attention and began acting irrationally and often violently toward her brother. After one such incident (broadcast over the Network) Angelica tracked a distraught Pietro down at the Brooklyn Bridge, where he confessed his role in M-Day to her. Angelica was horrified by his secret, but she refused to turn her back on him. This would prove to be the first of many hurdles in their relationship.
Wanda was ported out in early August, leaving Pietro and Gemma both in a state of shock. While comforting her boyfriend, Angelica absently suggested they elope, considering the fickle nature of the City, and was surprised when he agreed. The joy of their engagement was short lived, however. Wanda returned to the City a month later, and this time she was from a reality where she and her twin had been involved in an incestuous affair. As one can imagine, the whole thing was quite tense.
The end of summer also brought piranhas to the City. While at Brighton Beach, Pietro was attacked by the fish, leaving Angelica to rescue him. She and her fiance would work with the Avengers a month later to provide relief and rescue to volcano victims in Italy. The pair took a few extra days to enjoy Europe before heading home. Once home, Angelica accepted Warren Worthington's offer to teach art at Xavier's.
While living and recovering at Xavier's, Angelica faced the challenge of reconciling her past with Emma Frost. While many aspects of their complicated relationship were left untouched, they were able to work out their differences to the point where Emma named Angelica as heir when she was ported out of the City. This left Angelica with a large sum of money and many lucrative investments. Following her twenty-fourth birthday in September, Angelica began searching for a brownstone of her own. Also for her birthday, Pietro gave her a kitten, which she named Leopold.
In October, Angelica worked with Diana to organize a breast cancer Halloween fundraiser, which was a huge success. And at the end of the month, Pietro finally officially proposed to her, presenting her with a large sapphire engagement ring. A date was finally set and plans were made.
November brought the vampire virus to the City. Pietro became obsessed with Angelica's mortality, and he injured her by biting her neck. Once recovered, he felt great guilt and he ignored her for a week or so, though they worked out their problems in time for Thanksgiving with Wanda, Gemma, Tommy Shepherd, and Steve Rogers.
They moved into their own brownstone in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn just before Christmas, and just after Christmas they decided to take in Calvin as their ward. For a month or so, life was idyllic for the little family. However, Angelica was murdered by Keith Anyan in February, in a random act of violence. She was ported out following her death and spent nine months in her home universe before being ported back in on Valentine's Day. It was, naturally, an emotionally traumatic experience, and one that she still struggles to cope with. During her time back home, she was cured of her cancer and resumed her life as a superhero, which is something she is attempting to carry over into her life here.
