[Bump] Amy Gives Luke a Complex
"Sooooo... how about that last mission, eh?" Luke said with a waggle of his eyebrows.
Amy gave him a look, "I am married, Luke. I am not going to do anything but play motherly partner-like person who has a habit of telling you to fuck off."
"Right, married. right. Gotcha." The playful smile didn't leave his face, if this went wrong he wanted to make sure it was clear he was just messing around. Not being serious. Whatever she said didn't matter. "Um, but maybe if you weren't?"
Amy raised her eyebrow at him. "Wha-?"
"Am I an attractive guy?" he clarified.
"You're a kid."
"No, I'm not. I'm eighteen and haven't been a kid in a long time."
"Not nearly old enough," she said quietly.
Luke's face fell. "Story of my life," he said glumly. "Whatever, relationships just confuse shit anyways and I gotta be focused."
"Luke, I'm married. What do you expect me to say?"
"I don't wanna know if YOU think i'm attractive." Luked rolled his eyes like she'd missed what he'd been trying to ask, "Just, AM I attractive. You know, in general. Like, should I even expect that someday, you know, I could get married."
She looked at him with a critical eye. "You could do with a haircut and a better fitting wardrobe. You're a cute kid, but you gotta make the transition from 'kid' to 'man,' not only in body and mind but also in dress. Know what I mean?"
Hed tried to take what she said in without getting emotional but it was hard. "I guess so? I look young, right, so I gotta compensate with what I wear."
"Exactly. For example, owning a well-made suit and wearing close that fit better would definitely help."
"Ugh, a suit?" Luke made a face that very adequately expressed his opinion of suits. "But, if I wear tighter clothes then I look even skinnier."
"And wearing clothes that you look like you're swimming in makes you look younger. We have a gym; make use of it."
He frowned and hunched his shoulders defensively, her criticism hitting close to his insecurities. "Yeah, okay," he said and slunk off.
Amy quickly texted him the name and phone number of her tailor.
