I have been scrambling to get things done for this weekend trip, over that I have been ordering some stuff online (mostly electronics) to take it back to India. Not to mention the work part, to get the demos done, get ready with the power point presentations .. blah blah .. phew ..
It was time to visit the Korean consulate for visa and it kind of reminded me of the US consulate visits. Overall, US consulates are pretty bad in the way they treat people, be it in India or in Canada as far my experience. My Korean consulate experience lasted for fewer than 10 minutes. There were hardly any people, gave the application and walla, it was done even before I knew it. Kind of went back in time ..

standing in those looooooong Q's early in the morning .. looking at those some smiling/few dejected faces out of consulate .. going through the list of documents every other min to be sure .. the security guards acting like a shepherd with no respect for human dignity .. the first counter female swearing everyone who didn't get the proper demand draft amount and send them back mercilessly .. the look of the inside consulate like heavy fortress .. the feeling of letting our destiny in the hands of one person and his seal .. and finally a sense of relief that the ordeal was over !!
weird looking car/bike on my way to SFO today
