Ho hum
Have just raced through all the literary agents who belong to the Australian Literary Agents Association. Of those who'll take fiction, and whose books are open (apart from the one I've tried unsuccessfully) there appears to be only one other logical candidate. A third possibility has no current website so that puts me off plus they're not taking subs til Feb 07. The 'logical candidate' may of course have temporarily closed their books for 2006 but the real catch is they require the whole work. Not just sample chaps. Now I can see the science in this. Have a book ready, O you as-yet-unpublished (read unwashed) writer, or don't bother us. What's it to them if they read only three lines?
Of course they have a little hoop before you post. Email or phone inquiry.
If an agent ever looks at my website (needs updating) and clicks on the link to this blog - a highly unlikely event - they may not take offense.
So grumble, grumble. Have to change 'a couple of things'* and then use a lot of ink cartridges..
