That's All the Words I Know (1/1)

Le sigh. I'm really starting to feel the "morning after regret", days later from finishing Juliette. Is it too late to turn back time? Can I still pretend none of it ever happened?

...ugh, I'm just like totally and utterly ugh rn ( back to hiding in my own little corner), but I swear I'm going to finish the next part of EM after this, or at least ( Read more... )

er, this is great and I like the length but...

So three tables down, only two more away from his destination, he lengthens his stride. The stride of a man who won’t be bested by some rokurokubi, the stride of a man on a mission, it’s the stride of the Great Uzumaki Naruto who’s finally going to confront the Menacing Himiko-bastard once and for all.

have you... lost it?

I feel unduly pressured by that kind of question. You shouldn't ask such a delicate thing so abruptly. |_・)

But to answer said question...maybe. The jury’s still out on whether I even had "it" in the first place. I’ll flip a coin later to decide.

Hmm, I suppose it doesn’t fit. ~(>_<~) Strange thing it is, I think it sounded better when I was thinking it through in Japanese? Because I do that sometimes. Only, too many things make little sense afterwards. That, and writing Naruto confused me very much here. I didn't know what else to do with that part, because I still wanted to keep it to show Naruto was psyching himself up, while making fun of him for it and a lot of other things I won't bore you more with. idk, meh, who knows what it's doing there in the end; I just wanted this to be really silly ( ... )

HAHAHAHAHA
it's just, you don't normally channel Naruto's insane thought process. I mean, I on the other hand, do it all the time, so I saw that and I was like... *I* didn't write that. WHO wrote that? ANZA? WHAT? since when?

It fits in the story, it just seemed different to what you normally do, if that makes sense. I think also because you normally don't venture much into their thought processes, but just demonstrate what an outside observer would see, which is a more professional approach but er. not as fun ha ha ha ha.

^ that does sound very japanese. it sounds like how you make Sasuke talk, in a very japanese sort of way.

Funny you say that. I always thought I was channelling him, albeit a more real world-esque version(?), since I like writing an older Naruto; I think he's more suitable to fit my kind of mellow style--subtle, the one thing I actually can do. You had me thinking I done did goofed or something like that. But still, it's definitely a new angle to consider, and I shall ponder this with your insight in mind.

Does it? Ah, I don't think that's not good per se...I think. I need to learn how to speak normally.

Hmm. Maybe I'm wrong, but you generally seem to stay out of your characters' heads.

if you watch too much anime and read too much doujinshi, you end up talking like a translated japanese person.

No, if that’s how it comes across to you, that doesn’t mean you’re wrong. Again, it’s just something for me to think about, which is a good thing, because I’m always looking for ways to better convey ideas. Being direct is really not one of my strong points, so if you don’t see what I see, I’d still want to try to show you, you know.

Or something like that.

I’m just going to unlearn Japanese and pick up English all over again.
