I've been catching up on a lot of things lately, and The Legend of Korra is even more amazing than I'd hoped it would be. Despite any initial clunks, as most new series are wont to have, it has a wonderful humour, stands on its own right against The Last Airbender while remaining true to the heart of the show, and the actual bending is as mesmorising as ever. It inspires me to make many a gif. Plus, Steven Blum is voicing Amon, which, I think, pretty much speaks for itself.
Can't believe the seasons are purportedly so short--anyway, now, I really want to write a Naruto fusion with this world, with all the Satomobiles and 20s style attire, and all the cool slang. That would be awesome. I'd want it to take place either before Korra or after the series ends, because Naruto isn't going to be the Avatar. And it'd be gen, too. That's what I usually end up writing, I suppose, but I hope this idea goes somewhere...anywhere.
Something about Sasuke being a firebender (with the lightening ability), Sakura being an earthbender, and Naruto being an airbender, it just makes sense.
...I almost wonder if I should combine this with that futuristic/cyberpunk bounty hunter fic I had and make bending rare, since that would fit really well with the desolate Neo/New Edo theme, but then I'd lose the chance to abuse 20s slang, so I shall be conflicted until further notice.
