True Peace

On the road to Williams at 4 this morning
Stopped to make sure every one had enough gas to get to the grand canyon
I had never been to the Grand Canyon before
and I was super stoked to get to not only go,
but to watch the sun rise with some of the most loving people I have ever met
We finally arrive at around 5:45,
about 40 minutes from sunrise.
I got to hold his hand as we made our way to find a spot to watch one of the most beautiful sunrises I've ever seen
All 30 of us found a big enough spot that stuck out enough that we got to look out over the canyon.
As the sun peeked over the horizon
more and more of the canyon became apparent
Someone had a guitar and played music that just seemed to fit
Holding his hand watching the sun come up made me feel secure
I feel like I have found a place here
Even though the temp seemed to be 1 million below zero,
nothing could have taken the feeling of true peace away.
For 20 minutes the only sounds that could be heard were the notes being played
describing the feeling of love I had in that moment.
I found a way to feel completely secure with myself while being surrounded by a big group of people.
I found a way to completely forget the rest of the world while looking out on one of the most beautiful places in it

and being with him, made it even more worthwhile
