This past weekend was an experience, to say the least.
First, Friday was Drew and my seventh anniversary. Seven years. Can you imagine that? I can't. We went to Dallas, picked out our wedding rings (simply beautiful), shopped at the Galleria (love it!), ate at P.F. Changs (absolutely wonderful), and opened each other's gifts. Let me tell you what you get after seven years of being together, practically an old couple: I got him two Swiffers (carpet flick and wet jet), made him a webpage ( www.andrewbsims.com ), made him business cards, and bought him a piece of home décor. Haha! He got me a cross-stitching pattern, a purse, 3 hours of songs for the iPod, a headband, and a necklace from Tiffany's. I really hope he keeps this Tiffany's thing up... I could get used to it.
Second, Pieter, Drew and I went to "The Biggest Bridal Show in Texas" on Saturday in Houston. Oh. Wow. Needless to say, Lin and I have decided that I should write a book from all my bridal show stories: big bridezillas taking your prizes out of your hands, mothers walking off with your purchases, THE STICKERS I NEVER GOT (I'm still bitter about that). But I got a ton of pictures and ideas, bought my tiara, and found a possibility for a dress. Now that I look at that dress more and more, the less and less I like it. If you know even the tiniest bit about me, then you know that anal obsessive-compulsive detailed driven is who I am... So this finding the perfect dress is driving me crazy. Almost literally.
Which reminds me, Drew isn't to know anything about "the dress" until our wedding day. So if you want to know anything about it, you'll have to ask out of the public eye :)
Third, we hung around Houston on Sunday, shopped at the galleria, saw My Super Ex-Girlfriend (I liked it, the boys didn't), and ate some good food. I love Pieter's aunt! We watched So You Think You Can Dance and prayed that the Russian would be sent home.
I finally, FINALLY get to move back into my apartment this weekend!!! Well, it's the same complex, different apartment number. If moving boxes or driving a U-Haul is your thing, let me know!
I'm off to do my cross-stitching, like the old lady that I am.
