[Fan report] Route 66 DVD fan event (May 19 2012)

May 20, 2012 21:58

I saw some fan reports about Route 66's event so I decided to translate them. ^^

Fan reports from Twitter:

-Twitterer attended Rt.66 event, 95% was female. As a male he was a bit surprised. This is rarely seen for a show solely about
travelling.

-He wore a white V-neck T-shirt, black jacket (which he took off later), the cowboy boots he bought in route66, and a gold necklace. Left fringe is slightly longer. There was a VTR from lily-san. He went to drink with lily during his birthday. The fans also sang happy birthday to him.

-The fringe to the left is slightly longer. His hair would fall when he lowers his head to stamp the notebooks.

-It seems like the stamp used for stamping the notebook was not easy to use, Pi used both hands to stamp the notebook with force.

- When preparing the table for stamping the notebook, the staff let him leave the stage first, but yamapi didn’t move, he just stood at the side of the stage, some fans waved to him thinking that he was going backstage, but he said without the mic, “No, I won’t leave.” Also, ZIP went to the event to interview the fans on site.

-In the past, this twitterer saw many kinds of events, but Pi’s fan service is really amazing. During the onstage greetings, in order to take care of the fan who received flowers, he even specially said to everybody, “Good things will happen when you support yamapi, so don’t be jealous everybody”.

-5 fans were selected, they got a poster as a present, and these fans got autographs with their own name in the poster and the notebook.  And then there was a poster board as a sample on stage, Pi said since it’s such a rare opportunity, let’s give this as a present to the fans too. So 6 audience members received it.

-After the talk segment, Yamapi said, “OK”, and the audience shouted, “let’s go!”.  There were silver ribbons that fell down in the hall, only there was no logo on it.

-Yamapi was very embarrassed that he sounded unconvincing when he said, “Ok let’s go”. It was still alright when the show was during late night hours, but when it was played on the biggest screen in Japan, he was slightly embarrassed.

-In Lily-san’s VTR, he originally planned to attend the event, but due to schedule conflicts, he could only appear in VTR. Lily put the boots yamapi gave him at his entrance hall like a sacred item. Some Japanese fans even encountered VAP (ROUTE 66 DVD’s producing company is the organiser for this event), when asked about filming during interview, fans asked what do you think of route 66 having a second go.

-In today’s lucky draw segment for the signed posters, after they have chosen 5 people, Pi also used the poster board to the side as a lucky draw present, so there was a 6th person. Because the poster board was used for the lucky draw, the staff immediately took out another different poster board, the fans said that they should give this as a present too, the commentator, Kei Grant, took the new poster board and stood at the back of the other 6 people, looking very satisfied as the 7th person to get the poster.

-During the segment for the stamp, the staffs prepared a chair for yamapi to sit, but he didn’t sit down, he stood up the whole time while stamping, he took off his jacket when he was hot, making the fans scream. Because he faced every fan properly, talked for a while and then stamped their notebook, there wasn’t enough time at the end, so the staffs tried to urge him as they were worried that the event hall would close soon, but Pi was still very calm, he shook hands, talked and then stamp the notebook until the very last fan.

-Route 66’s staff twitter: Route 66 premium DVD event finished smoothly! Yamashita-san’s fans and the workers all worked hard. There’s already a lot of news coverage…I think this is an event that conveys Yamashita-san’s warmth.  This was a really good event!
