I woke up and Takarazuka fandom had explodinated!
Woke up early to get in an application for the JET program and found out about the Zuka news (namely: Tomu as top of Hanagumi, Teru moving to Soragumi).
I totally get why people are upset. Hoshigumi is perfect as it is; Chie and Nene, Teru and Remi are both fabulous conbi who also work brilliantly together, and adding in Toyoko and Yuzurun it's one of the best leading groups since...hell, since Wao/Hana with Mizu/Mihoko plus Tani and Taki-san. I will miss that.
But I'm so happy for Tomu. I saw her the first time I saw Zuka in '02 Hana's Elisabeth as Elmer. Totally didn't notice her. -_- But...she grew. She developed so quickly, and brilliantly, in all ways. Her acting! And that singing voice! Plus, she's an old Hanagumi member, so she's perfect for the troupe. She fits in, and even better, she's Eritan's classmate! Oh, they'll have so much fun while Eritan gets more polish. They deserve the happiness, and they're sure to bring magic to the plays.
Teru, I'm less sure of. I think she's Soragumi's new nibante, which is cool, though I hope she shares it with Micchan because Micchan deserves the position too (plus, isn't she getting a new Bow? That's a good sign) but she has NO classmates there, and has she even worked with any of them before? I hope they all work well together. She gets along with Chie and Nene and Remi so well, obviously, I hope her new home is good to her.
Back in Hoshigumi, though, what excites me is that this makes room for...YUZURUN NIBANTE!
She's obviously being given a boost; she got a bigger role than Toyoko in Officer and a Gentleman, and she's getting a play that's not just Bow Hall, but goes to an outside theater. Unless they transfer in another nibante, I think this is it, her big promotion, and I'm thrilled for her.
