Yes, it's 4:30am and I have to catch a train in 6 hours.
Buuuut I have BIGGGGGGGGGGGGG NEWS that cannot wait...And a desperate plea.
But first the big news!
I GOT A JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YES, ME.
Couldn't be? Then, who?
I will be working at Abt Associates, a firm in Cambridge, Mass, in the division that does Social and Economic Policy research. If you don't know what that means, ask me in 3-6 weeks and I'll be better poised to tell you. I don't know how to do a hyperlink without my ljclient so check out www.abtassociates.com. I also can't do cool bold and color things so forgive my liberal use of CAPSLOCK :) Well, I haven't officially accepted the offer yet because people are away for the holiday weekend, which is sad because I really would like to know if I can push back the start date (right now it's 7/17!) but anyways.
I know it's very exciting but it also means I need a place to live near there and SOON.
I don't want to live by my lonesome, so I have been scouring Craigslist for ads with addresses within 7 minutes walk to a Red Line T station but so far the pickings are slim and they mostly entail older males...
This is where you come in:
Do YOU know of someone our age, in the Boston area, who is looking for a roommate, either for apartment hunting with, or to fill an available room? As I said I'm thinking specifically around the Red Line area (Alewife, Davis, Porter, Harvard, Central maybe -too sketchy at night?). I'd feel more comfortable moving in with a friend of a friend over a complete stranger, and so I'm asking everyone I know.
While I definitely have apartment preferences (living with girls, having laundry machines, a dishwasher, bigger-than-a-twin bed and so on) I would even compromise some of them just to have someone I know vouch for my future housemate. It'd be worth a lot to know that my housemate(s) will not be a big bitch, a big slob, a big serial killer, a big loud lover, a big hermit, or a big Yankees-hater [different breed than a Red Sox fan, much less tolerable].
HELP ME OUT. Think of your friends, and your friends' friends, and theirs to the nth. Call me or write me an email/IM/comment if you think of something. I really appreciate it!

PS Happy July 4th weekend! I'll be spending it back in Somerville.
