Is Today Over Yet?

Busy, busy day.

(I'm listening to the last part of an interview Salvo just did for Rai Radio 1 and almost just started typing in Italian. Sono cosi stanca, sto mescolando le mie lingue!)

First, there was a grievance meeting at 8:15.

Then I taught all day.

I spent a little more than half my prep having a much-needed (for both of us, I think) discussion with a colleague about things discussed at the grievance meeting.

Then there was a grade level leader meeting at 3:45, immediately after dismissal duty was over (and of course, Jeff and I had the last 2 kids out there). And, of course, we discussed more things that had come up in the first 2 meetings of the day.

Then at 5:00 I briefly spoke with my mentor about the day's events and things that I'm really starting to get upset over. Like the things that were discussed at the grievance meeting, the colleague meeting and the grade level leader meeting.

At about 5:15, I started calling the parents that I called yesterday again, and this time 2 out of 3 actually picked up the phone and had a conversation with me, hooray!

And then at 5:45, I got to start the things that I normally start at 3:45 to prep for the next day.

I left school at 7:05 pm.

I can't tell you how much I'm craving some time with friends. Thank God we're doing happy hour this Friday!!!

But, there is some good news - the 100th day of school is Monday! That means we're more than halfway through the year, on the downhill slope!! YOU GUYS I'M SURVIVING THIS YEAR!!!
Sooo... 7 more school days 'til February vacation, 41 'til April Break and Florida, and just 82 more 'til the last day of school.
(that's 9, 65 and 132 in Real Person Time :-P)

tired, school
