...even though I'm not working or meeting deadlines this summer, you know it's still possible to procrastinate.
I think I got up the earliest today of my own accord (key words here) all summer. Getting up at the crack of dawn while on vacation with Captain Vacation (Dad) doesn't count.
I went to school today and sent out bulk copying for the grade level downtown. Yay productivity, I'm gonna earn that extra money for being grade level leader this coming year! Go me! And later, hopefully I'll be driving to Darien in like half an hour to visit with all my old LBLP peeps on their lunch break and make plans for future fun times.
Yesterday was the perfect summer day for me. Slept until noon, then went to the beach with my sister for maybe about 2 1/2 hours and read my book (currently I'm on another Rosalind Miles book,
I, Elizabeth, which I'm liking much better than Guenevere, Queen of the Summer Country). Later, we met up with our Giullari girls at the Crabshell for a joint birthday celebration (Tanti Auguri, Angela e Natasha!), and ended at the new gelato place in town for dessert.
We always have such a good time together! We drank (fairly strong!) strawberry daiquiris next to the band by the water and people-watched, ever on the lookout for cute guys (I guess that's the Italian way!). Laurie saw a guy in a Harley shirt she thought was good looking, and after we had a good laugh about her talent for guy-spotting, our table was ready.
Wouldn't you know it, that guy and his friends sat down at the table across the aisle from us as we were ordering our appetizers! They left early, though, and we had another good laugh and moved on to a different part of town, where the gelato place is.
You won't believe it - guess who was sitting with his buddies at the burger place you need to walk by to get to the gelato place? Yup, Mystery Harley Man and his buddies! Laurie was starting to freak out, haha. We go sit down inside the gelato place for a while, run into some friends, and eventually leave...and as we're walking back down the street towards the burger place, of course Harley man and his buddies were JUST getting up to leave.
And then they started walking in the direction we wanted to go! And we're behind them, and Laurie's going, "Guys, just walk reaaaally slow, maybe they won't see us," (even though I'm pretty sure they never noticed us in the first place, but that's just me), until finally she just goes, "AAHH I can't do this!!" and we turned around and raced back to the parking lot! XD
Maybe you had to be there. A good time was had by all. :)
