Happiness is...

the Winchester brothers. Yes, you read that right. I finally broke down and began watching Supernatural. Why the wait? Here's the deal: when Supernatural first appeared on the then-WB schedule, it sounded like my kind of show. I loved Buffy and Angel, so chasing down demons and such sounded like fun. There was just one problem...the show was airing on Thursdays at 9. The same time as my then-beloved Grey's Anatomy. No DVR/TiVo and/or any other way to watch them both. Which sucked, but I couldn't abandon Meredith, Derek and the gang at Seattle Grace.

However, by the time I had a way to watch two shows airing at the same time (thank you DVR!), SPN was too far along for me to jump in without being massively confused. Plus being a insanely poor grad student, I couldn't afford to buy the DVDs. Long story short, I've become increasingly frustrated with GA. I think Shonda has lost her mind. Izzie and DeadDenny is creepy. (Yes, the JDM irony is not lost on me.) Bottom line, I'm just not as invested in GA as I once was. So I'm taking the oppurtunity to go back and get caught up on SPN. My sister is a huge fan of the show and has lent me her Season 1 and 2 DVDs.

I'm 10 episodes into season 1. I totally get where the love comes from. I haven't jumped out of my seat like that in a long time. The humor is great too. I love the relationship between Dean and Sam. They're very different and yet compliment each other well. So far my favorite episodes are "Dead in the Water" (Yay, Amy Acker!) and "Home." Speaking of "Home," was on earth did John mean when he said he couldn't talk to Dean and Sam until he knew the truth? The truth about what? What killed Mary? Something else? I'm confused, but in a good way. (BTW, don't tell me. I'm just venting. I'm want to watch and see if I can figure it out. Given my track record with LOST, I doubt it.) I'm sure the show just gets even better than this. Yay!

I also want to wish my friend larabeckinsale a very happy birthday! Hope you had a great day!
