Stained Glass Progress...

Just a few pics showing the progress I made yesterday...

Beginning the leading...

One side soldered...

Applying glazing putty to one side...

You'd think puttying would be the messiest step, but no, the whiting powder is...

The first completed panel, curing... (still has some final cleaning yet)

Overall it's been a lot of fun! I got to use my grinder for the first time (awesome!), and it's been great working everything out. I'm going to be working all day today and tomorrow on the last two panels, but they are going to look great when they're finished -I can't wait to see them installed!

Oh, and last night Ian got a call from our friend Shawn (who's birthday is Halloween) about going out for drinks, so for the first time in forever (like, 5 years?) I went out with him. We met up with Shawn and Erin and a long-time friend who recently returned from Canada, Steve. The Town Square (next to Sebastiani Theater) is a pretty stereotypical bar; sports on all the flat-screen TVs, really crappy music playing on the electronic jukebox, "eclectic" decor, and a parade of random loud people. Oh, and a dart board (we resisted). Ian and I only stayed for a couple hours since he had to work today (Shawn and Erin were leaving for Reno today), but we managed to get a decent buzz on in that time -rum & cokes'll do that. :P It was fun, but I'm in no hurry to do it again -maybe if we manage to find a cooler place (but the odds of that in this town...).
