I started watching the 2009 BBC Emma miniseries, but... emo backstory? Impatient, feisty Emma acting jealous and bored and flopping around the house?
DO NOT WANT. I just can't watch the rest.
The Gwyneth Paltrow version is near-perfect (even though they had to condense the story into 2 hours). And they didn't need to show backstory to let us know that Emma is jealous of Jane Fairfax. They also didn't need her stomping around Hartfield, yelling, "I'm jealous of Jane Fairfax!" Paltrow showed it through, you know, acting.
Look it up, BBC bitches.
