SHOPPING WITH KELLY, GRACE AND JOSH'S 21ST, AND COSTUME IDEAS

Oct 12, 2009 16:59

I went shopping downtown with Kelly yesterday!!! It's really funny (and slightly sad on my part) how she wanted to splurge yet I ended up being the one who splurged more than she did. Then again, it's not my fault she couldn't find things to splurge on. ;P

I bought a polka dotted headband from Forever 21 for $4 ish, then this tunic/dress/top (?!) at Urban Outfitters for $20 ish, and a clutch/wallet type thing from Urban Outfitters for $20 ish as well. I actually needed a new clutch because my old one is busting, and I like it because it can hold my passport LOL!!!!

I also bought something for Kelly (as a belated birthday present), as did Becky if you count her as being there in spirit. "We" bought her a Flight of the Conchords DVD and it was funny because the cashier asked me what I thought of Season 2. I was like "..." then Kelly was like, "She's actually buying it for me." They then proceeded to have a discussion about how Season 2 wasn't as good as Season 1.

After shopping for quite a while, I subwayed to Union while Kelly subwayed home. From Union I walked to The Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner in belated celebration of Grace and Josh's 21st birthday! I have never eaten there before, but I kinda want to go back now until I have tried every single dish they have on their menu. They all sound so good! And not to mention, the service was REALLY good. I would tip our waitress a bit more extra than our already calculated 15% if I was rich (but I'm not). That's how satisfied I am with their service. It's probably also because it's been a while since I've experienced good service in general. Kudos to that restaurant for being spunky and great and yummy. =)

After dinner, a bunch of us headed to Jill's house with a plan to sing on her karaoke machine. However, when we got there, we just sat around and watched Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever and then some TV. It was then that I noticed that we always go to Jills house just to watch TV. It's kinda funny actually. =P In any case, thanks Jill for having us over!

I slept in quite a lot today. It was relieving yet stressing at the same time - relieving because I got to sleep; stressing because it means I lost valuable studying time. Darnit!!! Anyway, it doesn't help that Forever 21 has FREE SHIPPING this weekend!!! DUN DUN DUNN!!!! It also doesn't help that I'm trying to figure out what I should be for Halloween.

Want to help me decide? =P
  • Geisha: I have everything but the actual outfit LOL! However, I was about to buy a top that has a very Japanese kimono type pattern on it. THE PROBLEM IS...it's still just a top. Maybe I'll be a modern Geisha and wear pants. It's a bonus because my legs get to be warm HA!
  • Nerdy schoolgirl: I know people will immediately think slut when I say that but who said it has to be slutty?! Okay maybe it is a little bit slutty considering it involves a skirt in the chilly weather. But all I'm missing from this outfit is a plaid skirt so it should be an easy outfit to complete. The only thing that irks me about this costume idea is how it's so common. There will be nerdy little slutgirls running around everywhere already and I do not want to contribute!!!
  • Goddess: I have a white dress that I have yet to wear and it looks goddessy if I wear extravagent gold jewellery with it. I technically could pull it off with what I already have but I kinda want a gold braided headband or a gold braided belt to go with it. Although I know those can be found out there SOMEWHERE, I don't have the time to go hunting for it. Unless...someone has something like that and can lend it to me?! This costume idea's cons would have to be that I'll be cold, I'll need to wear something underneath because it's a tad bit seethrough, and that people will be able to see my fat!!!! Definitely NOT goddess-like!!! =(

P.S. Despite everything going on lately, my life has been quite shit. I'm not going to go into details because it's not necessary, but I just wish there will be an end to it all soon. It's physically and mentally draining! This is what I get for having high hopes and ideas about people and things.
