Sophie, Bun and the 4th of July
Hey all.
First, a small request:
Send some good vibes to my cats, please?
Secondly, I really hope y'all have a wonderful holiday. Tell me what you're doing?
And before I forget, let me put the rest behind the cut because I know some would rather not see.
Some of you may know that we have 2 elderly kittens running around the house at this time.
Today was take the oldest (Sophie) in for tests and whatnot because I was really concerned about her sudden drop in wieght. I have nightmares about what happened with harz and simon, and the doc was really low key, so when she said x-ray, I was pretty unconcerned.
Well, Sophie has a sarcoma tumor in her right lung, and, they believe, one in her brain. It explains her disorientation and change in behavior, and her "asthma" attacks.
We're not going to do anything special -- no chemo (she's 18). No surgery (same reason). Doc said for us to keep an eye on her and we'll know when it's time.
She did give us some pheno for her seizures, so that should help make her more comfortable.
And I just got to wonder -- What about Bun? His turn next to go to the vet. And they're going ot have to sedate him because he's just not going to allow them to examine him otherwise. (there's real danger in that for older cats, but...worth the risk, I think. Knowing is so much better than not.
but still -- WTF? was there something in that house on Loree Avenue? Or in the ground or something? Sophie, Arthur, Simon and Harz all got cancer. It's just so...god. I don't even know.
