Pancakes are meant to be round, of a certain thickness and stacked on top of each other. With a little bar of butter slowly melting on top and maple syrup dripping evenly on all sides. Well that's what they look like in pictures ( Read more... )

parenthetically (*snort* you know what about.)

making the perfect pancake is all effort, very little talent, it takes doing it with regularity. i too like them different ways. personally i'm not the golden brown type, i like em brown. and i like them with coconut and raisins in them with enough butter to kill an elephant and the dietetic's nightmare of syrup... If i keep going something bad will happen.

Pancakes rock. Several summers in a row I'd come back after swim practice and make pancakes every day. it was a ritual. Why did i make my own pancakes? Week 3 into that first summer my mother was fed up with my complete refusal to alter my breakfast diet i was therefore left to my own pancake heaven. :)

I had to take charge of breakfast an entire summer to make perfect pancakes. But at the end of the summer nobody wanted to eat pancakes anymore.

It is quite easy to burn out on them but then the bug hits me and i'll want them every day for a week and then i won't have them again for 8 months. :P

Did you put anything special in them?
