Lessons learned, and already reaping the benifits

So...Just a few days after I finally just totally moved on from it all..put all that shit behind me...

Brought me to today...and one of the best things to happen to me in a long time.

Today during Leadership Lab for Air Force ROTC...The Commander...Lt Col. Lundborg announced 4 scholorship wiiners, two sophomores and two freshmen...I was announced as one of the freshmen!...A 3.5 year full tuition scholorship!

I was selected for the scholarship by my Academics, extra curricular, commander's ranking, pt scores, and my AFOQT Score (Air force Officer Qualifying Test)...They take all of this into an equation then award some many cadets out of the whole Air Force ROTC cadet base...so I was probably competing with thousands or more other people. I am not sure how many they give out, but not all that many. Two is the norm, but some detachments get 0.

This scholarship...since i already have my tuition paid for...Will go to ISU, which will then write me a check for however much extra I have in my account (the whole tuition)...I also get a monthly stipend of 300 my sophomore year, 350 jr, and 400 senior..As well as 450 for books per semester.

All of this on top of my VA for every month due to my step dad's disablity from the armed forces....And my familys saved up money given to me via Wills....Is going to make for a hell of a nice college experince...

I totalled it all out that would be base profit...and hollllllyyyy crap...I could go to butler and not be in debt...

OF course...i'll have to pay for housing and other expenses the next 3 years....but that'll be cake now...

And once the summer is over I will be able to no longer work and completely focus on school and my stuff...So yes!!!

Wooo hooo...

Whitney you were right...I hit rock bottom but then not long after shit turns around!

Fred burned me on this one...but I edited it ;)
