Yesterday we had our quarterly site coffee talk and as always, there is the Site LT Awards. My team's never been nominated for one despite our hard work.
One of the award citations said that this team worked on 50 critical tickets for the quarter -- we worked on 302 critical tickets and that was just for last month, and yes we met the target for tickets closed within time.
Another award was the heroes award, for a team that did well during a crisis. Hell, we spent the last week of January recovering from a BIG crisis that was not even our fault! The issue was with the reference data which impacted all our reports, thus we had to reprocess everything. But we do not maintain the reference data, we just pull it from another team's system. Yet the company was penalized, and this did not pose well for us. But really, it was not our team's fault! But we bore the brunt of the impact. So I don't think it's not that we don't deserve to be nominated. Apparently we are just not recognized.
After that, we had dinner at Glorietta Food Choices then went straight to EGG in G4 for videoke. Really cheap at P300 per hour, especially since there were many of us. Then, coffee break at Starbucks then off to home.
Oh, and my new phone (Nokia 7390) arrived yesterday (still to be paid on the next paycheck). Hello, L'amour!
I wanted the powder pink one but it wasn't available. Actually, this particular model (7390) wasn't available in any cellphone store in Glorietta and Park Square (I asked about 15 stores), and the official Nokia store said it wasn't out yet. So mine was bought in the province at a really good bargain, almost as cheap as the Greenhills price but with warranty.
I plan on selling my Motorola Razr V3x, anyone interested? ;-)
HIGHLIGHTS of this month to date:
Receiving a surprise bouquet of red tulips from James who's still in New Jersey :D
Team A Outing at Camayan Beach Resort in Subic - after a year with this subteam, we finally had our first ever teambuilding,
hurrah!
Watched The Holiday (starring Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Cameron Diaz, Jack Black) and Music and Lyrics (starring Hugh Grant, Drew Barrymore) with officemates. Both really good movies - highly recommended. Light, romantic comedies that can warm the heart.
Videoke @ IO with former boss Vic M.
Company Presentation for Ateneo folks - I was a volunteer for the 3rd year in a row. This Saturday work earned me a CDO (compensatory day off).
Had my rating and salary increase confirmation. No comment.
Good news for ROHQ employees - ITE (income tax equalization) is being scrapped from our paychecks retroactively, go figure! ;-)
