One, and Only

She ran down to me;
My arms embraced her.
A moment, a smile
And all was a blur.

My breath caught inside,
My heart seemed to cease.
We kissed for so long,
And I felt the release.

So much we had shared,
Exploring each other's world.
Surrounded, yet alone,
Tales yet to unfurl.

She'd reached out to me,
Inspired, a chance.
Somehow I enticed her
To dream and to dance.

She then came to me
And my heart took flight.
Our destinies entwined
With our bodies that night.

Each listened, and laughed,
Each shared all that we had.
Love and hope, endless wells -
Though it may seem quite mad,

We stand already as one,
Knowing full in our hearts,
This is our story -
We both know our parts.

"Happy Ever After" begins;
No more to be lonely.
She is my One,
And I, her Only.
